Welcome, I am Zuzana Cani - blythe doll painter.

I was 10 years old when I made the very first drawing of the big-eyed figures. The drawing was supposed to go to a contest, but because it was after the due date this drawing lies inside of a photo album up to this day. Later during the secondary school, I used to draw throughout the breaks these cute little figures with big eyes which had a place of honor under the transparent notebook covers of my classmates. 

It was in 2010 when I saw on the internet a photo of the doll with big eyes and it was a love at first sight. The collectibles of these dolls cost from around 400 up to 2000 Euros, so I decided that if not buying them, I will paint a picture of them instead. I started painting dolls in 2012. Today I am the owner of three dolls which became the tiny models for my future paintings.

 I started to study the techniques of painting more systematically in 2008 in the atelier of Mgr. Art. Jozef Kurinec. 

My intention was to spread the cult of this doll in Slovakia since it's not very known in this area.

 I prefer the technique of oil painting.
